Lifesaving Awards
Lifesaving awards continue the journey from learn to swim, and builds on and extends skills, knowledge, fitness and judgement. It challenges participants to keep progressing towards more advanced awards and offers opportunities to get involved in lifesaving at grassroots level, competitive sport or gain further qualifications towards a career.

Royal Life Saving is passionate about ensuring that every Australian learns lifesaving and our goal is to have community lifesavers in every suburb, town or city across the country, no matter how big or small, or how remote.

The participation pathway for lifesaving links our swimming and water safety program Swim and Survive and provides opportunities to extend skills and knowledge progressively towards other pathways for competition, teaching and coaching or an aquatic industry career.

Our lifesaving awards can be conducted in schools, pools and safe local waterways.

Our lifesaving awards are taught by volunteers, members and instructors who are the heartbeat of community education. This is a crucial role to ensure participants not only learn the skills and knowledge to keep safer but experience the fun and enjoyment of lifesaving.

If you have the passion, skills and love imparting your knowledge to others then you’re perfect for this role. Express your interest directly with your local Royal Life Saving State or Territory office to find out more about the requirements.
