Keep Watch
Keep Watch is Australia’s most comprehensive drowning prevention and water safety program for children under five – an age group with an alarming drowning rate. From 2011 to 2012, 21 children under the age of five drowned in Australia – many of them in home pools and bathtubs. And for every drowning death, there are another three children on average who are hospitalised as a result of a near drowning incident. Many of them will suffer life-long injuries and disabilities.
The Keep Watch program provides parents and carers of 0–5 year olds with practical and easy drowning prevention strategies.
Your gift will help us deliver water safety, emergency first aid, public awareness and resuscitation programs – programs that will save the lives of many children.
You can help prevent children under the age of five from drowning by:
- Joining our regular giving program. Your commitment allows us to plan our vital services next year and well into the future
