The Grand Prix Series was a 3-event series held by RLSSA National Office to promote sport development and participation. The Series was linked with Intensive Training Camps for RLSSA's Australian Representative Teams, the Australian Pool Life Saving Short Course Championships as well as providing athletes with opportunities to refine their skills in National competition each year.

The Grand Prix Series is different to other RLSSA events as it held a $10,000 prize pool for Overall Male and Female Grand Prix Champions as well as Male and Female Individual Event Champions across the Series.

The most recent Grand Prix Series was held in 2009 in South Australia. The Grand Prix Series is no longer held however RLSSA now conducts yearly National Pool Lifesaving competitions including events such as the RLSSA National Pool Lifesaving Skins Meet and the Australian Pool Life Saving Short Course Championships.
