Royal Life Saving NSW is hosting the inaugural Big Splash Big Breakfast at:
Castle Hill RSL on the 4th September 2009.
The Big Splash Big Breakfast will showcase a new national sponsorship initiative called the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon. The UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon is a national fundraising event which will be held at swimming pools across Australia to help raise funds for the Royal Life Saving Society Australia to reduce child drowning and to support your favourite local charity.
The Big Splash Big Breakfast will also showcase a range of new Royal Life Saving initiatives including:
PUBLIC POOL INJURY REPORTING SYSTEM
NSW pool operators now have access to a new free online tool to help them monitor the type of injuries that occur at public swimming pools.
AUSTSWIM "DISABILITY" SCHOLARSHIPS
Industry scholarships are available in the specialist field of teaching aquatics to people with disabilities.
INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIPS
Royal Life Saving NSW Mobile Indigenous Training Unit (MITU) is offering free training to help kick start a career in the aquatic and recreation industry.
FIRST AID IN A BOX & CPR IN A BOX
First Aid in a Box™ & CPR in a Box are flexible, self-paced training solutions that provide industry and legislative certification utilising DVD technology and online interactions.
"5 STAR PARTNER"
The 5 Star Water Safety Partner initiative is a newly developed industry and community standard promoting facility safety benchmarks.
INDUSTRY TRAINEESHIPS
Nationally recognised qualifications for your staff. Turn a Statement of Attainment into a full qualification. Provide training for your existing staff. The Australian Training Company can tailor a program and arrange for Commonwealth funding.
SWIM & SURVIVE RE-DEVELOPMENT
The new Swim and Survive program now incorporates Water Familiarisation and Water Confidence strands to cater for children 6 months to 6 years.
NSW WATER SAFETY AWARDS
The aquatic industry premier awards night showcases the water safety exploits and achievements of the aquatic sector.
CPR WEEK
This year is the 50th anniversary of CPR in Australia. CPR week will provide an opportunity for the aquatic industry to promote the importance of CPR.
AQUATIC CHALLENGES
Do 8 - 17 year olds understand what they are capable of in an aquatic environment? The Aquatic Survival Challenge Series is a new program providing pools and schools with swimming and lifesaving proficiency benchmarks.
