Castle Hill RSL, Coulter Swimming and C2K Fitness and Aquatic Centre overflowed with fun for the Active Family Fun Day and UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon on Sunday 21 February 2010. UNCLE TOBYS® Ambassador Eamon Sullivan was there on the day to make his Big Splash and compete against local children in a Big Splash Relay
The funds donated to Royal Life Saving will support the Royal Life Saving Swim and Survive Drowning Prevention Strategy which aims to increase swimming and water safety awareness, access, employment pathways and research into the causes of drowning.
As well as the serious fundraising element to the day, families got in the water for fun activities including Rescue Me, noodle races and rescue tube relays as well as resuscitation demonstrations, dressing up as a lifeguard and getting a Keep Watch tattoo.
Warren Glenny, Castle Hill RSL President said they were delighted to help reduce childhood drowning by hosting an UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon. "Castle Hill RSL, Coulter Swimming and C2K Fitness and Aquatic Centre got involved in the UNCLE TOBYS® Big Splash Swimathon because we want to make a difference and help save lives".
