Centenary Swim & Survive Water Safety Vacation Program
The Royal Life Saving Centenary Program is an integral part of our Centenary Celebrations; participants of the program can be aged from 4 years through to 16 years. Qualified Instructors will conduct The Society's SWIM AND SURVIVE program and each participant recieves a special centenary certificate and award certificate(if achieved).
The Society's SWIM AND SURVIVE program aims to reduce the number of drowning deaths by ensuring that children have a sound knowledge of how to be safe when in, on and around the water, as well as skills in swimming, personal survival and basic rescue. The Society's lifesaving awards will also be available in the program.
We are pleased to advise that due to increased demand, The Royal Life Saving Centenary Program will be running throughout 2009/2010 Christmas School Holidays, in various locations.

Eligibility
Minimum 4 yrs old
Classes
4yr Old program: 5 x 1/2 Lessons
Level 1 - Level 7: 5 x 1 hr lessons
Higher Awards (Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion etc): 5 x 1.5 hr lessons
Program Fees
All participants will receive a certificate of participation
$20 4yr old per participant
$25 Level 1 to 7 and Rescue Awards per participant
$30 Higher Awards per participant
Instructor Incharge will also have resources for the Swim & Survive program available to purchase such as:

The program fee is for instruction only if you would like to claim the award the fees are as follows
Rescue Awards
Dry Rescue
Theory, reach rescues, rope throws, initiative. (Cost $5)
Wade Rescue
Theory, CPR resuscitation, reach rescue, rope throws, wade rescues, survival skills, initiative, swim 100 metres in 5 mins. (Cost $5)
Accompanied Rescue
Theory, Rescue Breathing, getting help, wade & resuscitation, slide in entry, stirrup lift, defensive techniques, accompanied rescue, underwater search, surface dive, initiative. (Cost $5)
Bronze Awards
Bronze Star (Cost $20)
Bronze Medallion (Cost $30)
Bronze Cross (Cost $35)
Please Note: Candidates must be 14 years of age to participate in Bronze Medallion or higher.
Higher Awards
Award of Merit (Cost $65)
Distinction (Cost $70).
If the award is not obtained within the time frame of the program candidates can contact The RLSSA-SA office (8234 9244) to arrange to complete the award.

Some locations charge daily entry fees which are payable to the venue, not The Royal Life Saving Society. Please contact the pool for prices.
