By supporting our Keep Watch program, you will be helping to combat the alarming drowning rate of children under five years of age. In 2008/09, 32 children aged five and under drowned in Australia. For every drowning death, another three children are hospitalised as a result of a near drowning incident.
Through the Keep Watch program, Royal Life Saving is working to prevent child drowning, by providing parents and carers of 0-5 year olds with practical and easy strategies to implement. Whilst Royal Life Saving receives some government funding it is nowhere near enough to implement and deliver our water safety programs. Your contribution will be put to immediate use in your community and will be used for the delivery of our water safety, emergency first aid, public awareness and resuscitation programs. Through your contribution you are directly helping to spread life saving skills and water safety education in Australia by ensuring everyone is able to become a lifesaver.
You can help support the Keep Watch program by:
- Purchasing entries in our Fundraising Raffle. You could win fantastic prizes by entering.
- Joining our regular giving program. Your commitment allows us to plan our vital services next year and well into the future.
- Sending a one-off donation by credit card, cheque or money order. Remember all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
- Purchasing Royal Life Saving products. We have some great products with all funds raised going towards the prevention of drowning deaths.
