Cameron Eglington has been appointed as National President of Royal Life Saving Society – Australia.Cameron is the President and a member of Royal Life Saving Society - Western Australia, as well as a trainer with the organisation. He is currently a Lecturer in The School of Education Health and Physical Education at Edith Cowan University, Perth WA.

A new report from Royal Life Saving Society – Australia reveals that 965 children aged 0-4 years drowned in Australia between 1 July 1993 and 30 June 2018. Accidental falls into water were recorded as the leading activity resulting in drowning.
Research shows Middle Aged Men are at highest risk of drowning in Tasmania

Royal Life Saving Tasmania have released a new report, ‘A 15 year analysis of fatal drowning’, which reveals that 163 people drowned in Tasmania between 1 July 2002 and 30 June 2017.Men accounted for 83% of these drowning deaths.

One in four drowning deaths involved people born outside of Australia

New research from Royal Life Saving 'A 10 Year National Study of Overseas Born Drowning Deaths' reports that 27% of all drowning deaths over the past 10 years involved people who were born overseas. 86% were living in Australia at the time of death.Adults accounted for 97% of drowning deaths. Poor swimming skills and the influence of alcohol were leading contributing factors in these drowning deaths.
