ACT 2017 Lifeguard Challenge Series

The annual ACT Lifeguard Challenge is BACK! This unique and exciting competition will host Lifeguard teams from public pools across Canberra and the surrounding region!  Teams compete for the prestigious ACT LIFEGUARD CUP and compete in events such as obstacle swims, line throws and simulated emergency response scenarios!

The ACT Lifeguard Challenge brings networking and socialising together with fierce training and competition for an intense yet totally FUN experience! Are you up for the CHALLENGE!?

Event Details

Venue: Gungahlin Leisure Centre, Canberra

Date: Sunday 26th November 2017

Time: 3.30pm arrival for 4pm start

Cost: $60.00 per team registration

Social function and presentation to follow competition. Approximate end time 8pm

  • Competitors must hold a current and valid RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Licence
  • Teams must consist of a maximum of 4 competitors, including at least 1 female
  • All 4 competitors in a team must be actively employed at the same pool at the time of competition
  • All female teams are encouraged
  • Each team must provide a volunteer to assist with officiating. This is a volunteer-driven event.
  • Registrations close 31st October 2017

Competition Information

Individual competitive events include:

  • 50m Obstacle Swim
  • 12m Line Throw
  • 50m Manikin Carry

Team competitive events include:

  • 4 x 25m Manikin Carry Relay
  • 4 x 50m Obstacle Relay
  • 4 x 50m Medley Lifeguard Relay
  • Team Initiative (SERC – Simulated Emergency Response Competition)
