Qualified Lifeguard for Jabiru Pool

Role: Qualified Lifeguard (fixed term, 12 October – 9 November)

Job Description: The Lifeguard will manage and support the day-to-day operations of the Jabiru Swimming Pool, ensuring the pool is operated safely and maintained to the required standards, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the pool kiosk.

Key Duties: Supervising the swimming pool and ensuring patron safety; conducting regular pool water testing and recording water quality results; making pool water adjustments in accordance with required procedures and guidelines; monitoring pool equipment and reporting maintenance issues; maintaining a clean and safe pool environment; opening and closing the pool as required; managing the pool kiosk, including customer service and basic sales; monitoring kiosk stock and advising when supplies need replenishing; supporting community and swimming activities held at the pool; completing relevant safety, water testing and operational records; and responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies in line with the pool's safety procedures.

Requirements: Current lifeguard qualifications and first aid/CPR certification. Relevant pool operations experience desirable. We are looking for someone reliable, safety-focused and comfortable working with children, young people, families and the wider community.

Accommodation: Provided for the successful applicant for the duration of the engagement (12 October – 9 November).
