Industry feedback sought on proposed NSW Public Health Regulations and Regulatory Impact Statement.
NSW Health is seeking your feedback on its draft Public Health Regulation 2022 and Regulatory Impact Statement.
The health of NSW residents is promoted and protected through the Public Health Act 2010.
The Public Health Regulation 2012 supports the Public Health Act 2010 by making provisions across these areas.
Under the conditions of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, the Public Health Regulation 2012 will be repealed on 1 September 2022 and rewritten to become the Public Health Regulation 2022.
This law is one of many that deals with public health in NSW, and makes provisions for a range of matters, including:
- notifying the public of diseases and health conditions, and
- regulating areas that can affect public health (for example, drinking water cooling systems, skin penetration procedures, and public swimming pools).
Proposed Changes to Regulations
NSW Health is seeking industry feedback on its proposed Public Health Regulation 2022 and Regulatory Impact Statement.
Key changes that relate to the swimming pool and spa industry focus entirely on:
- Specific water playparks and other recreational aquatic structures to cease being captured under the existing swimming pool and spa definition
- Proposed removal of ORP Systems for all public swimming pool and spas
