Are you passionate about good governance and leadership development? The Royal Life Saving Society – Australia (RLSSA) invites applications for the position of Chair of its Nominations Committee.
About the Role
As Chair, you will lead a three-person committee responsible for assessing nominees for the RLSSA Board of Directors. Your leadership will help ensure the Board reflects the diversity, skills, and experience needed to advance RLSSA’s strategic intent – bringing people together to eliminate drowning and empower communities to be safe around water.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of all nominees for Director vacancies.
- Oversee the preparation of reports to the Board and Members.
- Ensure that work aligns with the Constitution and Terms of Reference.
- Facilitate fair, transparent, and skills-based selection processes.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in board governance, recruitment, or selection panels.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate committee processes.
- Strong understanding of diversity, skills, and experience matrices.
- Independence from current RLSSA Board, Member Board and staff roles.
- Excellent communication and executive report-writing skills.
- Passion for what we do.
The Chair must be an independent appointee (i.e. not have been a RLSSA Director, a Director of a Member for at least two years).
