At Royal Life Saving Australia, we focus on bringing people together to eliminate drowning and empower communities to be safe around water. We’re looking for a creative, proactive and digitally savvy communications professional to take the lead on content across our website and social media platforms. You’ll join a dedicated national team committed to drowning prevention, water safety and making a meaningful impact.

About the Role

This full-time position is based in Ultimo and plays a key role in delivering timely, accurate and engaging digital communications that support national campaigns, programs and advocacy work.

You’ll be responsible for managing content across our website and social media platforms, collaborating with partners and internal teams, and contributing to the editing of key reports and publications.

Your work will help ensure our messaging reaches communities across Australia and supports a safer, more informed public.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day content management across our website (CMS) and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Write and edit articles, media releases, case studies, and campaign content.
  • Deliver regular digital newsletters and EDMs using platforms like MailChimp.
  • Create digital content in-house and work with suppliers for more complex asset production (graphics, video).
  • Monitor performance using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Sprout Social) and apply insights to strengthen impact.
  • Support the editing and formatting of publications, reports and stakeholder materials.
  • Collaborate with State and Territory Member Organisations to ensure messaging is consistent and aligned.
  • Maintain the organisation’s tone of voice and digital brand presence.

Why Work With Us?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation making a real difference in drowning prevention and community wellbeing.
  • Join a collaborative and supportive team that values creativity, purpose, and impact.
  • Enjoy ownership of your work, room to innovate, and a respectful, open culture.
  • Based in a convenient Sydney office location with hybrid working opportunities.
  • Access a range of employee benefits, including salary packaging, professional development opportunities, and an employee assistance program.

Who We’re Looking For

You're a communications all-rounder who’s equally comfortable in a CMS or Canva, writing a media release or launching a social campaign. You bring initiative, a collaborative mindset and you love making content that connects with people.

You’ll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, a current Working with Children Check, and full Australian working rights.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in digital communications, content creation, or public affairs.
  • Strong skills in writing, editing, and digital storytelling, with a clear understanding of tone, audience, and engagement.
  • Experience managing websites and social media platforms in a professional setting.
  • Confidence using a range of tools and platforms, including:
    • Content Management Systems (ideally Squiz Matrix or similar)
    • Social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
    • Social management tools (Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite)
    • Email marketing tools (MailChimp)
    • Design tools (Canva and Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • A creative, solutions-focused mindset and a collaborative, proactive approach to work.
