Three South Australian Aquatic Facilities Recognised for Excellence in Safety

Published 16 October 2026

Royal Life Saving Australia is pleased to recognise three leading South Australian aquatic facilities for demonstrating the highest standards of aquatic safety and risk management at their venues.

The facilities are the first in South Australia to be recognised at this level. They are:

  • Wulanda Recreation & Convention Centre – managed by Belgravia Leisure
  • The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre – managed by YMCA South Australia
  • South Australia Aquatic & Leisure Centre (SAALC) – managed by YMCA Aquatic & Events
Each facility underwent a series of assessment activities and demonstrated that their systems and processes, including staff training, meet the rigorous requirements of regulations, standards and the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations.
This achievement reflects the dedication of facility management and staff to creating safe, welcoming and well-managed aquatic environments for their communities.
Marty Moran, National Manager – Industry Safety at Royal Life Saving Australia, congratulated the three facilities on their achievement.

"Safe aquatic spaces don't happen by chance. They are the result of strong leadership, effective systems and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. These three facilities have demonstrated outstanding leadership by taking a proactive approach to safety, setting a positive example for the broader aquatic industry in South Australia and Nationally."

Royal Life Saving Australia congratulates all three facilities and their teams for their leadership in aquatic safety and for contributing to a stronger culture of safety across South Australia's aquatic industry.
