Alexandra Ash Elected Deputy President

We are very pleased to announce that Alexandra Ash has been elected Deputy President, Royal Life Saving Society – Australia.

Ms Ash was appointed to the board as an independent director in March 2022, and has strong skills in the areas of community engagement, strategy and business management, commercial business, and government advocacy. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Gymnastics Australia and is a past Executive Manager at YMCA Victoria.

In announcing the appointment, Royal Life Saving Society – Australia President Dr Mitch Hartman, who was also elected to a further term said:

“Alex has a deep commitment to our primary objective of ensuring Australians love the water safely,” Dr Hartman said.

“Her experience across the aquatic industry, combined with her leadership roles in community recreation and youth development, is highly valued by the board, executive staff and our stakeholders.”

Ms Ash said she was looking forward to her term as Deputy President.

“I am so very grateful to fulfil the Deputy President role supporting Mitch, the board, Justin Scarr, and the broader team. I look forward to engaging further with community and further advocating on the importance of water safety.”

The Board thanked Pene Snashall who completed her term as Deputy President last year, and had continued to support the President, CEO and board through 2022.
