Save the Date - National Water Safety Day 2022

National Water Safety Day 2022

The start of summer on 1 December 2022 is also National Water Safety Day, to encourage everyone in Australia to make water safety a priority.

Coming after a disastrous year where drowning deaths marked a 25-year-high, National Water Safety Day is an opportunity for individuals, organisations and communities to reflect on how they can keep themselves and their loved ones safe over summer.

Royal Life Saving research has shown an increased risk of drowning during public holidays and school holidays. During summer there are three national public holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Australia Day), as well as individual State/Territory public holidays and school holiday periods.

Royal Life Saving looks forward to marking National Water Safety Day so we can all enjoy our time in, on and around the water this summer safely.

We are asking Aquatic Facilities and Swim Schools across Australia to help promote National Water Safety Day

We will be adding a range of online marketing resources from 28 November for industry to promote on the day across their own communication channels. Resources include: Website, Social Media and Video Content.
